The Passage of the Health Care is a Good First Step for Health Care Reform

So, the Democrats managed to get the votes to pass the health care bill. We are now one step closer to joining the rest of the industrialized world in ensuring that all our citizens have health care. However, this bill is only the first step toward making that happen. This bill will create a system that is far better than what we have, but it still won't be nearly as good as other industrialized countries. The most important things that this bill does is ban the practice of not covering pre-existing conditions and dropping people for becoming ill.

No, this bill is not perfect by any means. There are still many reforms that need to be added to get us where we need to be, but this bill is a great first step. Hopefully, in the coming years we will continue to work as a country to catch up with the rest of the industrialized world. I will talk more about this on my show.

Just one more quick note before I go. I'm thinking about having an auction/contest to find a co-host for my show. I'll announce the details on my show as soon as I get them finalized. Be sure to listen Wednesday from 9pm to 11pm on www.fishbowlradionetwork.com in the Silver Studio. Also feel free to call in at 214-556-6239 to weigh in with your questions and comments.

  1. While you are one of my very best friends, you know I do not agree with you about this topic at all. I definitely should have called in, especially since I think this health care legislation is a joke and will only cause more issues in our nation than help us. I love you brother, and I guess that's what keeps us such good friends, i.e. we disagree with each other on a lot of things, but we still respect each other in the end.
